Record turnover at flower auctions for Valentine’s Day

More flowers were sold via the Dutch auctions for Valentine’s Day 2011 than ever before, according to recently released figures. The five Dutch FloraHolland auctions together sold more than a 100 million roses, 100 million tulips and an additional 100 million other flowers in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, with 20 million indoor plants also traded.
